THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and
New Testaments are the supernaturally and verbally inspired Word of God. The
Bible is the first and final authority of faith and life, inerrant in the
original writings, infallible and God-breathed.
2 Timothy 3:16, 17
THE GODHEAD
We believe that there is one, and only one,
living and true God. He is an infinite, intelligent Spirit. He is the maker
and supreme ruler of heaven and Earth: inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and
worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love. In the unity of the
Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. They
are equal in every divine perfection, and execute distinct but harmonious
offices in the great work of redemption.
Matthew 28:29
2 Corinthians 13:14
THE PERSON AND WORK OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the
eternal son of God, became incarnate, without ceasing to be God. He was
conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He
might reveal God and redeem sinful men. He accomplished redemption through His
death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice.
Our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the
dead. he ascended to heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God,
where, as our High Priest, He Fulfills the ministry of Representative,
Intercessor and Advocate.
John 1:1, 2
THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine
person. He is equal with God the Father and God the Son, and of the same
nature. He was active in the creation. He restrains the evil one until God’s
purpose is fulfilled. He convicts of sin of judgement, and of righteousness.
He bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony. He is
the agent of the New Birth. He seals, baptizes, indwells, guides, teaches,
witnesses, sanctifies and helps the believer.
John 14:16, 17
THE PERSONALITY OF SATAN
We believe that Satan is a person; the author
of sin and the cause of the fall. He is the open and declared enemy of God and
man. He shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire.
Isaiah 14:12-15
CREATION
We believe the Genesis account of the
creation is to be taken literally. Man was created directly in God’s own image
and after His own likeness. All animal and vegetable life was made directly,
and God’s established law was that they should bring forth only “after their
kind”.
Genesis 1
THE FALL OF MAN
We believe that man was created in innocence
under the law of His make, but by voluntary transgression fell from his
sinless and happy state. The consequence remains that all mankind are now
sinners, by birth and of choice; and therefore under just condemnation without
defense or excuse.
Genesis 3:1-6
THE VIRGIN BIRTH
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of
the Holy Ghost in a miraculous manner. He was born of Mary, a virgin, as no
other man was ever born or can ever be born of woman. He is both the Son of
God and God, the Son.
Matthew 1:18-25
THE ATONEMENT OF SIN
We believe that salvation of sinners is
wholly of grace, through the mediatory offices of the Son of God, who by the
appointment of the Father, freely took upon Himself our nature, yet without
sin, honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and by His death made a
full and vicarious atonement for our sins. His atonement consisted not of
setting us an example by His death as a martyr, but was the voluntary
substitution of Himself in the sinner’s place. The Just died for the unjust.
Christ the Lord, bore our sins in His own body on the tree. He then rose from
the dead. He is now enthroned in Heaven. He is in every way qualified to be a
suitable, a compassionate, all-sufficient Savior
Romans 3:24
GRACE IN THE NEW CREATION
We believe in order to be saved, sinners must
be born again; A new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus. It is
instantaneous and not a process. In the new birth the one dead in trespasses
and in sins is made a partaker of the divine nature and receives eternal life,
and the free gift of God. The new creation is brought about in a manner above
our comprehension, not by character, nor by the will of man, but wholly and
solely by the power of the Holy Spirit in connection with divine truth. Its
proper evidence appears in the holy fruits of repentance, faith, and newness
of life
2 Corinthians 5:17
FREENESS OF SALVATION
We believe IN God’s electing grace; that the
blessings of salvation are made free to all by the Gospel. It is the immediate
duty of all to accept the by cordial, penitent, and obedient faith. Nothing
but their won inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the Gospel will
merit an aggravated condemnation.
Matthew 11:28
JUSTIFICATION
We believe that the great gospel blessing
which Christ supplies secures the believers in justification. Justification
includes the pardon of sin, and the gift of eternal life on principles of
righteousness. It is bestowed not in consideration of any works of
righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer’s
Blood. His righteousness is imputed to us.
John 14:16, 17
REPENTANCE AND FAITH
We believe that repentance and faith are
solemn obligations, and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the
quickening Spirit of God; thereby being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger
and helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with
unfeigned contrition, confession, and supplication for mercy. At the same time
we heartily receive the Lord Jesus Christ and openly confess Him as our only
and all-sufficient Savior
Isaiah 55:6, 7
THE CHURCH
We believe that a visible church of Christ is
a congregation of baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and
fellowship of the Gospel. They observe the ordinances of Christ, are governed
by His laws; and exercise the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them
by His Word. Its offices are Pastors and Deacons, whose qualification, claims
and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures. We believe that the true
mission of the church is found in the Great Commission; to make disciples, to
build up the church, to teach and instruct. We hold that the local church has
the absolute right of self-government. The only superintendent is Christ
through the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 5:23
BAPTISM
We believe that Christian baptism is the
believer’s immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and The Holy
Ghost. The act of baptism is to show forth a solemn and beautiful emblem of
our faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our
death to sin and resurrection to a new life. In Scriptural order, baptism
precedes the privilege of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. All members of baptism
should be counseled.
Matthew 28:19
THE LORD’S SUPPER
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a
memorial service in which the elements of bread and wine remind us of the love
of God in Christ Jesus, who spared not His son, but gave His life for all.
This ordinance is to be always by solemn self-examination.
1 Corinthians 11:23-28
THE SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER
We believe that all who take Christ as their
Savior are born from above and are eternally secure in Christ. Salvation is
once and for all.
John 10:28, 29
Romans 8: 35-39
Philippians 1:6
THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED
We believe that there is a radical and
essential difference between the righteous and the wicked. Only through faith
the righteous are justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus, and sanctified, in
the name of the Lord Jesus, and sanctified by the Spirit of our God. All who
continues in unbelief are in His sight wicked and the curse. And this
distinction holds among men both in and after death, in the everlasting
felicity of the saved and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost
Romans 6:23
CIVIL GOVERNMENT
We believe that civil government is of divine
appointment, for the interests and good order of human society. Magistrates
are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored, and obeyed, except only in
things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of God.
Romans 13:1-7
THE RESURRECTION AND RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe in and accept the Sacred
Scriptures upon these subjects at their face and full value. Of the
Resurrection, we believe that Christ rose bodily, that He ascended to the
right hand of the throne of God; that He alone is our High Priest in things
pertaining to God; that this same Jesus shall come in like manner as he went
away, bodily, personally and visibly. We further believe that the dead in
Christ shall rise first; that the living saints shall be changed in the
twinkling of an eye at the last trump, that the Lord God shall reign a
thousand years in righteousness, until He has put all enemies under His feet.
